Abstract :
The current study aims to investigate the sports safety in public universities of Golestan (Iran). An applied-descriptive research method is used. Statistical population includes all sports facilities in public universities located in Golestan province. A facility safety inspection checklist is applied for which research reliability is measured by Cronbachʹs alpha test (? = 0.83). Having completed checklists, data are collected and analyzed by descriptive statistical methods. The findings show that for sports facilities in public universities of Golestan consisting of six indoor sports halls, the safety in sports facilities and buildings and, also, in sports fields achieve the mean scores of 109.08 and 213.63, respectively. Further, the result obtained for the safety in sports equipment and materials indicates a moderate status by the mean score of 179.45.
