Abstract
n-Hexane and n-heptane isomerization was studied over a series of bi-functional Pt/SAPO-5 and Pt/SAPO-11 catalysts (0.5 wt% Pt), by using a micro-catalytic pulse reactor. Results indicated that catalyst activities are directly influenced by acidity (determined by pyridine and 2,6-dimethylpyridine adsorption). Best selectivities for branched hexane isomers are achieved with Pt/SAPO-5 whereas isomerization of n-heptane is higher on Pt/SAPO-11 than on Pt/SAPO-5 catalysts.
