Abstract
The Catalytic properties of iron-containing ultrastable Y zeolites for the oxidation of methyl methacrylate to methyl pyruvate by H2O2 have been studied. It is found that iron species in cation positions and framework lattice are active sites. Combining Mössbauer spectroscopy and temperature programmed reduction techniques, we attribute the reduction peak with a temperature maximum at about 1123 K to the reduction of Fe3+ in the framework of zeolites to Fe0. Fe(III) in the framework lattice gives an EPR signal at g=2.0.
