Abstract
The literature available on the various defects in the link mechanisms and solution rectification since from Filemon (1967) till Balli and Satish Chand (2002) is reviewed. It provides good information about branching defect, Grashofʹs defect, order defect and circuit defects in an organized manner. The knowledge of these defects enables the designer to synthesize the defect-free linkage mechanisms.
