Abstract
The analytical determination of existence criteria for overconstrained five- and six-bar linkages may be too difficult a task for its conclusion to be foreseen. Nevertheless, much has been achieved in the systematic investigation of five-bars, and numerous diverse results are available for six-bars. Closure-equation algebra and deployment of prior findings allow us to begin a comprehensive search for mobile six-bar loops. We name many solutions with parallel adjacent joint-axes and specify those chains which require further study.
