Abstract
The response of rotor’s mass imbalance is synchronous vibration proportional to mass, mass eccentricity, and the square of rotating speed. But in the presence of rotor’s radial rub-impact, it does not keep this property. It is observed from numerical simulations of rotor’s radial rub-impact that the magnitude of imbalance response in power spectrum is affected by rotor’s radial rub-impact. In the absence of radial rub-impact, the magnitudes of both lateral and torsional responses maintain constant. But in the presence of radial rub-impact, the magnitude of lateral response goes down all the way to a bottom while that of torsional response goes up all the way to a roof, as radial rub-impact grows strong. These properties can be used for the diagnostics of rotor’s radial rub-impacts.
