THE EFFECT OF A THIRD BODY ON THE ORBITAL PARAMETERS OF THE SECONDARY COMPONENT IN THE SYSTEM OF ALGOL

The perturbing effects of the third component on the orbital parameters of the secondary component in the system of Algol are numerically estimated using the method of the theory of perturbation. The equations of secular perturbation are derived using the method of integration of the average value to solve the Lagrangian equations. The results show that the perturbing effect of the third body on the orbital parameters of the secondary component is not negligible.
