Abstract :
In this study, the room acoustics program ODEON was applied for the noise control of a carpentry plant. Utilizing the program, a certain amount of mineral wool was installed optimally on the ceiling and walls of the plant. In addition, one moulding plane was enclosed. The measured sound power insulation of the enclosure was 20 dB(A). The reduction of the noise levels in the plant were predicted applying the ODEON program. The predicted average reduction was 5 dB(A). The predicted sound pressure levels were compared to the measured levels. The measured sound pressure levels after the noise control measures differed 1 dB(A) on average from the predicted levels.
