Abstract :
In order to measure the surface mobility of an infinite plate subject to a uniform conphase velocity excitation, an experimental method is investigated in this paper. In the measurement, a new way to deduct the affect of additional mass loading is developed to increase the accuracy of the measurements. A rigid cone is employed to produce a uniform conphase velocity excitation and a finite plate is used to simulate the model of an infinite plate. The results of the measurements agree with that calculated theoretically and show the characteristics of the surface mobility, which decrease continuously as the exciting frequency and the contact area increase.
