Acoustic simulation of rooms with boundaries of partially specular reflectivity

A method for calculating the impulse response for rooms with partially specularly reflecting walls is presented. The method combines the extended radiosity method and the conventional methods based on geometrical acoustics, ray tracing and mirror-image methods, to handle not only specular–specular and diffuse–diffuse reflections, but also diffuse–specular and specular–diffuse ones.
