Analysis of electro-discharge machining process and its comparison with experiments

A theoretical model to estimate the material removal rate and surface quality of the workpiece has been developed. The model provides equations to calculate the workpiece material removal rate and maximum peak-to-valley height of the workpiece surface finish. Experiments with different values of discharge current, pulse duration time and interval time were conducted to investigate their effects on the surface finish of the workpiece and material removal rates. The theoretical prediction and experimental results are in agreement when compared.
