Analysis of the thermal fatigue process

This paper consists of the results of study on thermal fatigue problems obtained over the last years at the Technical University of Wrocław. These problems are as follows: a new concept of damage measure and its experimental verification; the effect of the stress state on the behavior and failure mechanism of austenitic steel under thermal cycling conditions; the concept and experimental verification of the equivalence of thermal and mechanical loads, and a new method of determination of constant equivalent temperature.
