Factors influencing friction in steel sheet forming

The strip drawing test of sheet metal was used in the simulation of the steel sheet/steel tool friction contact conditions during a drawing operation. As the factors produce a dispersion effect on friction, the following variables were chosen: sample orientation, lubricant, velocity of sample displacement, plastic strain and contact pressure. The average friction coefficient was calculated from experimental data and a linear regression model was build to predict the dispersion effect.
