Abstract
Room temperature microstructures, tensile properties, void formation and surface roughening due to deformation, forming limit diagrams (FLDs) and strain distributions in punch stretching in sheets of Al–Cu–Mg, Al–Mg and Al–Mn alloys are described. The interdependence between the metallurgical variables and the mechanical properties is shown to be complicated.
