Abstract
This paper describes the preparation and characterization of the Al2O3–TiO2 powders for plasma spray coatings. The Al2O3–TiO2 powders were fabricated from an aqueous solution of Al nitrate and Ti ethoxide precursors using chemical synthesis. The powders were calcined at 650 °C for 1 h and then pellet samples were sintered at 1300 °C for 1 h in air. These powders were characterized by SEM, EDS, and X-ray diffraction. The results showed that the particle sizes of Al2O3–TiO2 powders were found to be between 10 and 45 μm.
