Hong Kong productivity council—the I-hub of productivity in Hong Kong

This paper addresses the extent to which Hong Kong Productivity Council (HKPC) serves as an “intelligent hub” to enhance the productivity and competitiveness of enterprises, particularly the small and medium enterprises (SMEs), in Hong Kong. The scope of this paper covers the following: (i) the profile of SMEs in Hong Kong; (ii) the role of HKPC as an industry support organization; (iii) HKPC’s “3388” strategies to serve as an “intelligent hub”; (iv) HKPC’s SME initiatives; (v) the SME Centre as a key initiative; (vi) Compass North to facilitate China–Hong Kong cooperation; (vii) supporting innovative enterprises and (viii) marketing through industry groups.
