Abstract :
A sequence of thermally and stress-induced intermartensitic transformations has been found in a Ni52.0Mn24.4Ga23.6 single crystal, which have been confirmed by transmission electron microscopy through in situ cooling experiments. The stress-strain-temperature behavior under compression along the left angle bracket1 1 0rightpointing angle bracketP and left angle bracket1 0 0right-pointing angle bracketP crystallographic directions has also been studied for this compound and a stresstemperature phase diagram has been established.
