Abstract :
The intelligent press forming of sheet metal is a completely new and comprehensive technology that combines control science, computer science and metal forming theory. Although the technology had existed for over 10 years, it had mainly focused on the spring-back of V-shaped bending. Not until the early 1990s was some pioneering research conducted on the intellectualized control of cup-deep drawing. After prolonged theoretical and experimental research, the authors have developed an intellectualized control system for the deep drawing processing of an axi-symmetric shell part. By applying this system to a conical part, the authors have analyzed the common general features of an axi-symmetric part on the process of deep drawing and have concluded a completely mechanical model and finally realized the deep drawing intellectualized control of an axi-symmetric shell part.
