Abstract :
The relationships between some mechanical properties and formabilities were investigated in Mg–3 mass% Al–1 mass% Zn alloy sheets. Through this study, it is concluded that reduction of (0 0 0 2) texture dramatically improves erichsen value at room temperature and brings good deep drawability from room temperature to warm temperature below 175 °C. Because this also contributes to the lowering of deep drawing temperature about several tens of degree, it becomes possible to use inexpensive and environmentally friendly PET film for a lubricant. Deep drawability of PET laminated sheet was better than that of non-laminated sheet with MoS2 lubricant below 175 °C.
