Abstract
The drawing of composite wire products is a relatively new technology that has found application in the medical sector, primarily due to the unique properties introduced by the composite product. Typically, the potential benefits of composite wires are to provide excellent resistance to bio-corrosion, conductivity and substantial radiopacity and strength properties. This research reports on the drawing of type 316L stainless steel tubes and electrolytic tough pitch copper composite wire. Successfully drawn wires were subjected to various annealing parameters to study the interface bond between the two layers. Results from optical examination and SEM micrographs on prepared samples are reported
