Abstract :
Aiming at the difficulty in realizing three-dimensional dynamic simulation of ring rolling process, this paper firstly analyzed some key technologies and gave out related solution schemes, in which the LS_DYNA code and its mass scaling function is adopted to reduce the compute time, and a user-defined ANSYS Parametric Design Language program is developed to control the complex movements of the guide rolls and axial rolls. And then this paper created the three-dimensional simulation models of a rear axle bevel gear blank, an aero-engine turbine casing blank and a great conical ring of the 600 MW nuke reactor shell, and realized the entry virtual rolling process of these profile rings, respectively. The real-time dynamic process of ring enlarging and fleck generating as well as the stress, strain and displacement contours are given out as the results and then compared to the practical rolling process. Good agreement is obtained and thus demonstrates that this simulation method is feasible and can be used to guide the design and optimization of the ring rolling process.
