Abstract :
Cone spinning, is a complicated plastic forming process under multi-factor effects. And the roller feed rate is one of important influence factors to the process. In this paper, a 3D FEM model of the cone spinning process under action of two symmetrical rollers has been established, and the treatment of some key technologies during this process have been detailed, further the influences of the roller feed rate on the spinning force and forming quality of the cone spinning under zero deviation condition have been analyzed. The results show the following: (1) with the growing of the roller feed rate, all components and resultant force of spinning force, wall thickness and its evenness increase, but the shape and size precision decreases. (2) The roller feed rate has an obvious effect on the practical deviation state: with the growing of the roller feed rate, the practical deviation state changes from mixed-deviation to under-deviation, just such characteristic leads the flange to bend backward, keep vertical, or wrinkle. The results may be useful for determining the roller feed rate of cone spinning.
