Abstract :
A practical S-matrix to potential inversion procedure which applies to coupled-channel scattering is presented. The inversion technique is described in the context of the problem of determining a tensor interaction View the MathML source which exactly reproduces non-diagonal View the MathML source for spin one projectiles. It also applies to spin-View the MathML source plus spin-View the MathML source scattering. The method is a generalization of the iterative-perturbative, IP, method. In this paper, spin-1 IP inversion is tested and evaluated and the variation of the potential is investigated for cases where there is insufficient information to define the potential uniquely. Since View the MathML source interactions must be presumed to be present in many applications, we examine the potentials which result when the S-matrix is generated from a View the MathML source interaction. The spin-1 IP algorithm can be incorporated within a direct observable-to-potential inversion procedure to provide an efficient alternative to standard phenomenology. We evaluate its application to finding a multi-component potential, including a View the MathML source interaction, fitting multi-energy σ, View the MathML source, View the MathML source, View the MathML source and View the MathML source data for the scattering of spin-1 nuclei from spin-zero target. It is applicable to other channel spin 1 cases.
