Abstract :
The heat capacity of synthetic crystalline gold sulfide, Au2S, was determined from 14 to 309 K. Fitting of the heat capacity curve yields the following values of the standard thermodynamic properties at 298.15 K and 1 bar: Cp,m0=83.54±0.15 J K−1 mol−1, Δ0298Sm0=139.22±0.77 J K−1 mol−1, and Δ0298Hm0=17.591±0.041 kJ mol−1.
