Abstract
An overview is given on atomic physics techniques for manipulating radioactive beams and for extracting nuclear properties. Emphasis is put on recent developments involving storing and cooling of radioactive species in ion traps, storage rings, and laser neutral-atom traps. The recent progress achieved in mass and laser spectroscopy as well as in weak-interaction studies will be discussed.
