Abstract :
A new tracking detector “SCITIC (SCIntillating Track Image Camera)” was developed by our group for hyperon scattering experiments (KEK-PS E452). The SCITIC consists of a bulk-scintillator active target, an optical lens system, a cascade of Image Intensifiers Tube (IIT), a CCD camera, and a DAQ system. The 3-dimensional track image was reconstructed from 2-dimensional image with three SCITICs. The size of CCD picture was 640×480 pixel/picture, and the data-taking speed was 25 events per 2-sec spill on average. We have taken pictures of about 1 million events.
