Abstract
Orientation effects in the scattering of leptons by nuclei are studied in the framework of unified theory of electroweak interactions. The nuclear currents are expanded into multipole components and as a result the cross section is expressed in terms of multipole form factors. It is shown that thanks to the orientation effects in the scattering, but also multipole form factors can be obtained separately not only in electron scattering, but also in neutrino scattering by nuclei. The influence of nuclear orientation on the scattering cross section of electrons and of neutrino by nuclei is investigated. For both cases the contributions of orientation to the cross section may be of the same magnitude as the cross section without orientation. As examples for illustration the elastic scattering on proton and on lightest nuclei with spin View the MathML source is considered.
