Temperature and density in heavy ion reactions at intermediate energies Original Research Article

A wide range of projectile, target masses and incident energies have been investigated at the LNS (Catania). The experimental setup allowed, simultaneously, a complete reconstruction of the projectile decay and a determination of temperatures and densities of systems at midrapidity. Densities and isospin content of the neck region were measured for the intermediate impact parameters, whereas limiting temperatures for mass around 200 were determined in central collisions.
