Abstract :
In this study the liquidus temperature in the ternary Cu–Sb–Sn system was determined by using DTA/DSC experimental technique. Experiments were carried out along three sections of the ternary system assuming xCu = 0.8; xCu/xSn = 1.22 and xSb/xSn = 1, respectively. The liquidus temperatures obtained in this study were compared with calculated liquidus lines. Muggianu approximation method was used to predict respective isopleths along chosen cross-sections. It was found that measured liquidus temperatures are lower than those calculated from respective binary systems using CALPHAD formalism.
