First Measurement of the ω-meson Production at RHIC by PHENIX Original Research Article

The PHENIX [K. Adcox et al., Nucl. Instrum. Meth. A 499 (2003) 469] experiment at RHIC measured the ω-meson production in the range of p⊥ from View the MathML source to View the MathML source in p+p and d+Au collision systems at View the MathML source. We present the consistent results of two independent measurements in decay channels ω→π0π+π− and ω→π0γ. The ω/π0 ratio was found to be 0.90±0.06. The Nuclear Modification Factor RdA is 1.3±0.2 both in the Minimum Biased and (0%-20%) central event samples. The mass of the ω-meson was measured to be consistent with the PDG [Particle Data Group. S. Edelman et al., Phys. Lett. B 592 (2004) 1] value within the errors of the measurement. We also measured the View the MathML source-meson production in View the MathML source in the same collision systems.
