A new barrier potential and alpha-decay half-lives of even–even nuclei in the image regime

The alpha-decay half-life in a nuclear reaction is mainly affected by the penetration probability, which itself depends on the choice of the barrier potential. Here, we propose a new barrier potential to investigate the alpha-decay half-lives in the even–even nuclei from image to image. The obtained results are motivating.
