Abstract
The use of radioactive beams to explore giant resonances is only in its beginning. Presently, low beam intensities limit the accessibility and make it necessary to develop new techniques and more efficient detectors. The initial experiments show encouraging results and especially in view of the next generation radioactive beam facilities giant resonance studies promise be a productive field in the future.
