Polyurethane elastomers obtained in polar solvent with N,N′-ethyleneurea as a chain extender

Tensile properties as well as dynamic mechanical thermal properties of urethane elastomers based on 4,4′-diphenylmethane diisocyanate, poly(ethylene–butylene adipate) diol and N,N′-ethyleneurea as a chain extender, were investigated. The elastomers were synthesised with different hard segment content in dimethylsulfoxide solution. The polymers which were obtained impart outstanding stress–strain properties although their synthesis requires a relatively long time.
