Abstract :
The problems of synthesis, identification and determination of purity degree of chlorocyclophosphazenes are very important. These compounds are substrates of the synthesis of poly(diorgano)phosphazenes, the class of polymeric materials having wide application in many fields of technique and medicine. Poly(diorgano)phosphazenes are synthesized in the substitution reaction involving the chlorine atom replacement in a poly(dichloro)phosphazene by a suitable group assuring desirable properties of a synthesized polymer (e.g. flexibility at low temperature, fastness to oils, biodegradability, etc.). To synthesize poly(dichloro)phosphazene, a hexachlorocyclotriphosphazene purified by sublimation, crystallization and distillation was used. Usually the molecular mass and solubility of the obtained polymer depend on its degree of purity. For the determination of this property of hexachlorocyclotriphosphazene, IR spectrophotometry and 31P NMR spectroscopy were used.
