Abstract :
The PVC/CPE blend (100/10) was modified with ultrafine particles of polystyrene (UPS). The results show that the tensile strength is slightly decreased with the impact strength increasing significantly, the rheological and plasticizing properties of PVC/CPE blends are also improved when a proper content of UPS is filled into PVC/CPE (100/10) matrix. The measured impact strengths generally correlated well with SEM and TEM morphologies. This result is different from that of toughening plastics with elastomer.
