Abstract
2-(2-Furyl)pyrrole, 2,5-bis[2-(2-furyl)ethenyl]furan, and 2-[2-(2-furyl)ethenyl]-5-[2-(thienyl)ethenyl]furan were synthesized via Horner, Witig and cyclization methods and they were electropolymerized oxidatively. The synthetic routes of monomers, electrochemical behaviour of polymers, and interpretation of the results are described. Application of higher cathodic potentials to the film formed on the electrode surface improved the redoxability and electroactivity of the polymers.
