Chemical reactions on thiazolic polymers: selective oxidation of diverse alcohols with 2-methyl-4-poly(styrylmethyl) thiazolium hydrotribromide

The oxidation results of some alcohols to their carbonyl compounds with the macroporous resin 2-methyl-4-poly(styrylmethyl) thiazolium hydrotribromide (1.67 mmol Br3− g−1) under basic experimental conditions are reported here. The yields of the obtained alkanals and ketones are good, and the procedure interesting.
