Analysis of Underlying Conditions of Indication of Creativity in Librarians Based on Oldham Model (Case Study: Public Libraries of Kermanshah Province)

The librarians should be creative in order to increase the quantity and quality of services and the necessary conditions of demonstrating creativity should be provided for them in order to offer the best services to the visitors based on creativity, intellectual progress and offering new perspectives. Thus, the present research aims to detect the underlying conditions of indication of creativity in librarians of public libraries of Kermanshah province based on Oldham model. The current research is an applied research and it is conducted through survey-analysis method. A questionnaire has been used in order to collect data. The research population includes all the librarians of public libraries of Kermanshah province (108 individuals) who answered the questionnaires. For testing the hypotheses the inferential statistics such as variance analysis, one-sample t-test and MANOVA analysis were used. Results showed that the librarians’ positive mental condition affected by work and non-work contexts, librarians’ individual differences in terms of personality, job, and the willingness of librarians for offering and sharing creative perspectives were higher than average level, and the necessary underlying conditions of creativity in librarians were higher than average level. Also in terms of components of necessary underlying conditions of creativity there was no significant difference between the librarians’ perspectives based on gender, age groups, work experiences, and type of employment: but in terms of academic major there was a significant difference. Generally all the public libraries of Kermanshah province are at levels higher than the average level of necessary underlying conditions of creativity in librarians, which means if the necessary underlying conditions of creativity are provided the staff and librarians working at the public libraries of Kermanshah province could reach levels of creativity and innovation higher than the average level.
