Abstract :
The aim of the present study is to investigate the effectiveness of spiritual intelligence group training in the psychological well-being of HIV-positive patients. This study employed pre-test, post-test design with two experimental and control groups. Statistical population included all the HIV positive patients in Khoramabad City in 2013, out of which a sample of 30 patients diagnosed with HIV was drawn. The selected subjects were then assigned to the experimental and control groups through convenience sampling method. The results of multivariate analysis of covariance (MANCOVA) showed that spiritual intelligence training has been effective in improving the psychological well-being of HIV-positive patients (p < 0.001). Overall, such interventions can help HIV patients improve their health level and psychological well-being, since they experience periods of depression and have a lower level of health as compared to normal people in addition to the physical problems and discomfort caused by the illness pressure.
