NATURE OF INITIATORS FOR INDIRECT ELECTROCHEMICAL REDUCTIVE DEGRADATION OF POLYCARBONATES IN DIMETHYLFORMAMIDE

We have established the nature of the species initiating indirect electrochemical reductive degradation of polycarbonates in dimethylformamide solutions. Such compounds include two types of nucleophiles: hydroxide ions, and also their complexes with dimethylformamide. We have shown that it is possible to use indirect electrochemical reductive degradation for surface and bulk modification of polycarbonates.
