Abstract :
Data are presented concerning the influence of porous silicate matrices, obtained by the sol–gel method, on the spectral characteristics of embedded porphyrin- and hypericin-like molecules. The main cause of the spectral changes observed is the modification of the impurity molecular structure by means of hydrogen bonds formation involving the surface hydroxyl groups of the matrix pores.
