Abstract :
Optical absorption, thermoluminescence, infrared spectra and differential thermal analysis of three different tellurite glass systems viz., ZnF2–As2O3–TeO2, ZnF2–Bi2O3–TeO2 and ZnF2–P2O5–TeO2 containing 0.4% of Cr2O3, have been investigated. Results have been analysed in the light of different oxidation states of chromium ion and the most suitable host for lasing Cr3+ ions has been identified and reported.
