Abstract :
In the previous decade, single-molecule spectroscopy has been applied to large varieties of molecules to test their individual behavior in different environments. Using this method, we get rid of the static disorder always present in bulk experiments. Also, the need for synchronization of many molecular samples undergoing time-dependent molecular processes is removed. Therefore, it enables to test the dynamical disorder resulting from the local environment of the single molecule. In this work, by taking advantage of the description developed by Skinner et al. and later extended by Berezhkovskii et al. we present a theoretical description of the single-molecule spectroscopy valid for large systems. As an application, we recover and consequently extend the previously published results by a complete account of the internal molecular dynamics.
