Abstract :
We investigated a one-dimensional strongly correlated electron system [NiBr(chxn)2]Br2 by time-resolved luminescence spectroscopy in the picosecond region and found that the luminescence was constructed from two components distinguished by energy and lifetime. One of these had a small Stokes shift and the other had a large Stokes shift of approximately 0.2 eV. These results suggest the coexistence of excited states with large and small lattice relaxations. We propose a model to interpret the dynamics of luminescence spectra.
