Triboelectric charging in metal–polymer contacts – How to distinguish between electron and material transfer mechanisms

Whether charging of metal beads cascaded over inclined polymer films results from electron or material exchange can be resolved by determining whether it is the surface roughness of the beads that is the critical factor.
