Abstract
SnO2 samples were sintered with an addition of Eu2O3 in nitrogen ambience by means of conventionally mixed oxides (CMO). The effects of Euʹs addition on the luminescence properties are studied by photoluminescence (PL) at room temperature and low temperature, as well as photoluminescence excitation (PLE) spectroscopy. Structural properties are further studied by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and Raman spectroscopy. The addition of Eu results in efficient sharp luminescence peaks at 590 nm associated with d to f transition. The excitation energy higher than 3.6 eV yields an efficient energy transfer.
