Abstract :
Due to the combination of lamellar structures composed of splats with special Al2O3–TiO2–ZrO2-compositions free-standing flame spraying coatings with a unique structure were produced. Because of thermal shock treatment, phase and crack evolution takes place. With the aid of EBSD- and CT-method the lamellar structure, the phase transition and the crack evolution were investigated and the prospect of these methods evaluated.
