Abstract :
Mg3–Ca3(PO4)2 bioceramics were prepared from hydroxyapatite (HAp) with high Mg contents using sol–gel method. The influence of magnesium on the phase composition, crystal structure, electrical properties, chemical structure and morphological characteristics of powder bioceramics was analyzed using X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Dielectrical properties of the bioceramics were investigated by a dielectric impedance spectroscopy method. It was observed that the crystallization degree for all the samples dramatically was decreased with the increasing Mg content. The average crystallite size of the samples was found to vary from 32 to 42 nm. The morphology, density and dielectric properties of the bioceramics were changed with the addition of the amount of Mg. The obtained results indicate that the Mg3–Ca3(PO4)2 bioceramics can be prepared by means of hydroxyapatite bioceramic.
