Abstract :
We report planar heterojunction solar cell obtained by chemical vapor deposition (CVD) and hydrothermal technique. Copper phthalocyanine (CuPc) and titanium oxide (TiO2) were used as donor and acceptor materials respectively. The nanomorphologies like nanocorals, nanorods and nanoflowers were synthesized by the hydrothermal route and CuPc was deposited by CVD. The optical and compositional properties of TiO2/CuPc films were investigated by using UV–vis spectroscopy and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). Finally TiO2/CuPc devices were tested for their J–V properties. This approach would be quite useful for the fabrication of hybrid solar cells. The TiO2/CuPc device shows maximum photoconversion efficiency (η%) 0.41% for TiO2 nanoflower like morphology.
