Abstract :
A low loss and temperature stable microwave dielectric ceramic Ba4LiTa2SbO12 with 8H hexagonal perovskite structure was prepared by traditional solid-state ceramic route. Sintering behavior, phase transformation, and microwave dielectric properties of Ba4LiTa2SbO12 ceramics were studied. X-ray diffraction analysis indicated that a phase transition from cubic to hexagonal perovskite occurred when calcined temperature increased from 1300 °C to 1500 °C. Ba4LiTa2SbO12 ceramic sintered at 1480 °C exhibited optimum microwave dielectric properties with a moderate relative permittivity of ~25.1, a high quality factor (Qu×f) of ~77,700 GHz, and a near zero temperature coefficient of resonant frequency (τf ) of −3.6 ppm/°C.
